The "cruise" and her friendly crew members, the lunch and dinner gathering, the chill out on the deck, the unexpectedly impressive cave, the unexpectedly artificial man-made beach, the kayaking with the Italian roomie, the craft of the pearls, the brief visit to the monkies, the hawkers on the boats, and of course also the scenery which reminded me of a certain other attraction back home.
travel notes from each of the cities, towns and places I have visited.

Hanoi
The comparatively more relaxed atmosphere and the comparatively lesser number of motorbikes, the serenity of the pagodas, the bodies of water in the city by day, the quality girls time thanks to the very nice guy, and the walk around the lake in the evening, as the many families also gathered to enjoy each other's company and an ice-cream or two.
Củ Chi
Respectable... reading more before or after is probably recommended for a more thorough understanding.
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Endless waves of bright faces and motorbikes amongst French influence and that very well-known war. Apart from the Phở 2000 and Wrap&Roll, there were also other encounters like French romance with Japanese elegance at La Fenetre Soleil, Spring time's mix of the flavors of green tea, coconut and peanut at Fanny's, open-air barbecue at Quan Nuong, and guess what? Kulfi.
