Tamsui

7 years since Zurich. JM is still the very good host.

... exploration of the area on wheels which started with hanami and ended in front of the water. (also see Taipei)

A snapshot of the uncertain street, Grand Hotel from the window, and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and the National Palace Museum... perhaps.

Not the city, but the experience turned out to be completely different from what I had in mind when I got the tickets: Checked off the landmark, crossed wide roads which resembled S-town, said hi to Yat, circled the leafy alleys with cafes, restos and salons which resembled K-town, the new designers cluster where Shiatzy Chen and Robyn Hung were neighbours, the outdoor gear stores cluster, the happening streets which resembled O-town, the eki-mae, the underground street, and finally experiencing the Shilin Night Market. Experiencing Mist. And the lengthy list of cafes which I could not possibly work through all within these few days: must visit again. hopefully not alone.

The snacks and the shorter than expected plane ride, with laughter from all 5 people from the family.
