At one point on our way there we saw what felt like the whole Milky Way above us, spreading across the night sky. On the first glance Machu Picchu looked just like on the postcards or posters - but at dawn when there were few(er) tourists around, it was mystic and magical. The many storytellers I met while going around the site only made it even better, and it was great trip back along the rail road.
